About the Piece:

This first piece in a brand spankin' new series - aptly named the Watercolored Series (descriptive FTW) - started with a mash up of two other series I've already done: the Shield Series as well as the Geometry Series. This was ultimately all instigated by making graphics to decorate my deviantART profile with one day. I love the look of watercolors on thick paper - a styling prevalent in the Geometry Series - but I wanted to do something a bit different and genuinely aesthetic in nature. During some sheer experimentation in Photoshop, I decided to bring in the crest from my A Link Between Worlds Hylian Shield and see what I could do with it. After some additional tweaking and fiddling, this piece was the result. It's minimal but yet complex, obviously fandom but yet subtle about it, and highly artistic but not difficult to understand its point. For me? That's a winning combo. I have to admit that I really love this piece because it incorporates a lot of my personal favorite things in art: color, texture, bold shapes, high visual interest, intense contrast, minimalism, and abstract nature. Adding fandom into it somehow is just a bonus. This is a bit of a different style than my usual pieces, but ultimately this is the epitome of my taste in art so I hope you guys enjoy it and the other pieces to come in this new series!
