Watercolored Eye of Sheikah ~ (The Legend of Zelda series)

A bold and artistic take on that soul-piercing eye from the ancient Sheikah tribe.


About the Piece:

For this third piece in my Watercolored Series, I figured I'd round off the trifecta of Legend of Zelda symbols and make one featuring the ominous Eye of Sheikah, a symbol prevalent throughout Hyrule's history and thus the entire game franchise itself. The color scheme for this piece was difficult to determine since there are some big variations in coloration associated with Sheikah characters; ultimately I chose to focus on the blues/purples that are most heavily present throughout any Sheikah character in the games, namely Sheik's fighter outfit. I wanted this piece to be a bit darker and more eerie than the ethereal Hylian Crest seeing as the Sheikah are an enigmatic people and the Eye is rather shrouded in mystery. Similar to the Majora's Mask piece, though, I tilted the Eye quite severely to look as though it is peering and examining the viewer just like the good ol' mildly creepy Gossip Stones in the games. I like how this piece turned out and I hope you other Legend of Zelda fans enjoy this third piece in my Watercolored series.
