Whether you've all stopped by my profile to say hello, check out my gallery, give a llama, or any other number of things...you have my greatest and deepest appreciation possible. My biggest hope is that most of you have been entertained and amused by my works when you've stopped by, for bringing joy to the masses is always what I'm striving to do. As a way of celebrating and saying thank you for this milestone, I want to invite everyone - including my non-watchers - to participate in a themed art contest for some cool prizes! Goodies like 700+ points, craft items, and free custom commissions are in the prize pool as well as some other stuff, so read on to see how to enter!

The theme: Fandom Crossover

Create an original piece that incorporates two - or more - completely different fandoms merged into one new idea!

In a nutshell, a crossover refers to two completely separate fandoms, topics, or ideas being melded into one singular experience. Whether it is a drawing, written song lyrics, animated gif, fan fiction, handmade craft, or other artistic creation...as long as it has two topics crossing over into each others worlds? You're gold! For an example, check out my recent Hyrule Avengers pieces that meshed The Avengers with The Legend of Zelda to create one final feature of photomanipulation fun.


For this contest, your entry may be in any medium. Digital art, traditional art, photography, artisan crafts, literature, film/animation...anything you want, you got it. Want to digitally draw the characters from Game of Thrones as though they're in Adventure Time? Do it! Perhaps you'd like to write a short story about the 12th Doctor from Doctor Who traveling back to 15th century Italy and helping Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed in a plot before they both travel to the modern day and meet the X-Men! Whatever you want.

Entering: info & requirements

Your entry may be in any format, medium, or category applicable to DeviantArt. Song lyrics, Flash games, digital art, Perler bead crafts, fan fic - as long as you can upload it to DA somehow? You're good.

Your entry must contain at least two different fandoms. Video games, movies, books, TV, comics, you name it. Historical/cultural eras, events, and topics (ie: Makedonia in the 4th-century BC) are not considered fandoms in this instance. Also, the fandoms must be completely different; crossing two individual sub-topics within one greater fandom - such as crossing The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker with The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - is not acceptable. Additionally, crossing sub-franchises that generally have the potential to meet in their greater "universe" - particularly in the Marvel, DC, etc realms - is not acceptable.

Your entry must be created & submitted by you. Photomanipulations, digital art, etc may use resources such as official art, screenshots, press images, DA stock, Creative Commons works, and/or works in the Public Domain as long as they are properly credited to their source(s). No collaborations with other deviants. No using art from other deviants (unless credited stock or resources).

Your entry must be made for this contest. No creations made in the past without being prompted by this contest are acceptable - sorry!

Your entry must not contain nudity, explicit violence, sexual content, or other generally adult material. This is a contest open to all age groups on DA, so please leave any adult concepts in your personal gallery.

To submit your entry, upload it as a deviation and reply to this post with a link/thumbnail! Please ensure that your uploaded deviation has any needed information in it (such as resource credits) and please make sure you mention my contest in the description so I can be sure it is indeed for this event!
